EWUF is the only official Wushu organization in Europe responsible for managing all Chinese Martial Arts (Wushu, Kungfu, Taijiquan, Wingchun, Shuaijiao etc.) as recognized by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF). Wushu is an official Sport recognized by the International Olympic Committee, ARISF and Sportaccord since 1998.
    The European wushu federation was created in 1985. The IWUF was created in 1991.

    Thanks for that. It was interesting from a Wing Tsun/Chun point of view. However the main point seeming to be made is that this Wing Chun guy is saying he does authentic Wing Chun which is real Wu Shu and everyone else from Yip Man's lineage is by default inauthentic.

    I have written before that in marketing, in order to differentiate your product from your competitors, you need a Unique Selling Point (USP). With beer and bread it is tradition, with cars it is technology. With a lot of martial artists it is tradition and lineage and I think we have to view the article in that context.

    As an aside, the head of our organisation, GM Leung Ting always asks how important is tradition when your opponent is punching you in the face? The Wing Tsun he teaches is a mixture of what he learned from Yip Man in Hong Kong, what Yip Man taught his early students in Fatshan before the war and then Leung Ting applying his own logical approach to fighting.
