Took it back to the garage and turbo was replaced, grand for few days then happened again, engine light constantly on. diesel particle filter? would be a guess?
would recommend full computer read out and fault find.... what was the basis for the turbo replacement?

Bear with me, I'm not very engine savvy! Mechanic changed some valve which fixed problem in 2.0l passat engine for him, but alas not in mine, then he decided to change turbo, also mentioned egr valve but haven't touched this yet. Have got caught out now a few times passing out cars on the road and suddenly no power..very frustrating.
