What are peoples opinions on these? I had one in a house I lived in abroad and thought it was great, why does nobody here seem to use them? eg.http://heatpumps.scanhome.ie/

The air-to-air units are very common in commercial and office premises, both wall mounted and recessed into the ceiling. Concealed ducted units are also available that connect to grilles in the ceiling or wall. Many australian houses are heated and cooled this way. It's just not very common domestically in Ireland.

I was thinking myself that air-to-air split systems could make an ideal partner for underfloor radiant heating systems, particularly for delivering quick "top up" heat in the early autumn / late spring.

    Did you visit them?

    Any update?

I did visit them, but the owner was away on holidays and the stand in knew little about the system. I e mailed the owner this evening to try to set up a meeting. I am also looking at the option of becoming an installer.
