Shimano BRCX77 disc brakes

Just wondering if anyone has these brakes? I have them on my CX bike and they work fine most of the time. However, I have noticed that the front caliper in particular needs to be adjusted on a regular basis and seems to suddenly lose braking power. I think these brakes were recalled earlier in the year, so perhaps there is still some sort of issue? Or maybe mine are just broken?

    Have you checked the pads?

Yeah, pretty sure it's not the pads-there's plenty of 'pad' left on both sides, I've also taken them out and cleaned them. Seem like they just stop working efficiently after a while-they are still ok in terms of stopping but maybe not for a sudden stop, say for avoiding a dog or something.

If they have issued a recall, and it appears from google that they have not specified the reason, why don't you simply exchange them for whatever they propose teo replace them with - problem solved.

I assume they will cover the cost of fitting a replacement as part of the recall.

The website suggests you go to a "shimano dealer" to have them checked and replaced. interstingly though they have a pdf detailing information on how to arrange teh replacement covering lots of eu countries, but none for ireland.

Since they are recalling on teh basis of a performance issue, and since you are experiencing performance issues with them, it is probably best to just take them up on teh offer to replace?
