Company limited by guarantee - reporting requirements

    Hi,

Any idea when the requirement to get audited accounts prepared for a company limited by guarantee will be dropped? I am part of a community group that is being limited in what it can do because it wants to avoid the (shortly-to-be unnecssary) audit costs... so is delaying setting itself up as a company limited by guarantee...

    Thanks!

The proposals are in the company bill which are to be enacted at the end of this year, beginning of next.

    Hi

As Alan said the proposals are in the new company bill which will be enacted shortly.

However, you should note that the new Charities Act when it is fully enacted will more then likely require that an audit is carried out for charities that are above a certain level of turnover. Unlike company law, this will more then likely extend to unincorporated entities also.

    Best Regards
