I got an email earlier from Setanta offering to show 35 of the European Champions Cup (pls forgive me is I got the title of incorrect, I am referring to the old HEC).
Anyway from various threads here I see that Sky's coverage of both league and European campaigns will be limited.
    What do you guys reckon?

Both bt and sky have the same number of games as far as I know. BT though have first pick regarding all games featuring English teams.

From what I gather on Setanta they are providing BT's coverage to Ireland. So if I have my usual SKY now subscribe to Setanta also then I will get all the games?

Even with half of the European games (which remember is only 9 weekends of the season) Sky are still looking far more attractive. They'll have:

    - At least one Pro12 game each week, two some weeks.
    - 1/2 of the games in the European Cup & European Challenge Cup
    - Exclusive coverage of the French Top 14
    - Exclusive coverage of England's autumn internationals and shared coverage of Ireland's with RTE (there are no summer internationals this season but they'd normally have those)
    - Exclusive coverage of Southern Hemisphere rugby including the Rugby Championship
    - For what it's worth...live coverage of the LV Cup

    BT will have
    :
    - 1/2 games in European Cup/Challenge Cup
    - exclusive coverage of Premiership Rugby.

    That's about it...

BT Sport 1, 2 and ESPN are part of the Setanta Sports pack in Ireland so yes you'll get all the TV games If you take both Setanta and Sky Sports.

Thanks for that, I have Sky anyway, but am basically wondering if I subscribe to Sentanta will i by having both channels get to see all the European Cup/ Challenge Cup games?

If you are choosing between Sky and BT and don't want to get both, it comes down a bit to your interest in the Premiership vs the French Top 14. BT have the Premiership and Sky have the Top 14. It's Top 14 for me!

I believe my laptop is covering every game live. I'll be sticking with that!

Yeah for me paying for BT Setanta comes down the pecking order behind the pub, window of a telly shop and binoculars over the neighbours wall

It also comes down to whether you like the Pro 12 or not. Sky have it, BT don't.

If you have to choose between the two it's a no brainer for Irish rugby fans.
