    Hi all,

I'm currently in the position that I'll be moving to the UK in the next couple of weeks but I'm still only on my provisional licence here. In reality, I'd probably be sitting my test in the next few weeks if I wasn't leaving so a bit unfortunate timing.

My question is, if I go to the UK, will I have to re-apply for a provisional, re-sit a theory test before being allowed to do the practical? Just that if I can do the test when over there, it would be great. I think I'll still do the above anyway, it might end up saving me money in the long run.

Your learner permit is only valid in the republic, so you would be starting from scratch when in the UK.

Also the UK test has a good number of differences so i would advise that you look it up.

E.g. more maneuvers and independent driving
