Nobody was hurt in the making of this lovely fender bender. I'm not at fault. I'm not in the business of gouging people but neither am I going to take a sub-par repair. I'm based in Dublin on the southside. So far I've got Frank Keane and Dennings on the list for quotes, is there somebody I'm missing? Here's the damage:

I used carcraft in fairview recently and found them brilliant, and for nearly half the price Dennings we're charging. Their work is flawless and Shane is excellent to deal with, couldn't recommend enough tbh.

I've used Carcraft before for a wing repair on a 206. I was happy with the work at the time and definitely happy with the price. It's a bit away from me but I'll keep them in mind.

To be honest I'd let the other persons insurance sort it out, whatever about offering to avoid insurance route if you hit someone, if someone else damaged my car I'm claiming of their insurance...you never know what way people will react when the bill is given to them.

A few years ago I was hit by a taxi on the front wing and he paid up. I was hit a few years before that and the lad told me to get lost so I went through his insurance. I'll be getting money up front. If they refuse, drag their heels, want me to visit their mate who owns a bodyshop or otherwise mess me around I'll go to their insurance.

Right now it looks like a fresh bumper, possibly a rear diffuser if clips are broken, rear boot lid panel (that thin strip is a metal panel that is welded onto the qpanels), one or two rear sensors (they're not working) and some repairs to unbend the boot lid. Rough prices on parts lead me to believe its approaching €1000 without paint and labour and I've no idea if there's any structural damage behind it all.

They're a young driver on a provisional, if they can afford it without going through their insurance then I'll let them make the call.

Go through the other persons insurance but pick what bodyshop you want the car fixed in. Looks like it needs a fair few parts, bumper, boot lid, I presume the crash bar is damages plus all the clips and associated fitting parts.
There could be €3k in damage there.

It be rare for them not to try wriggle out from paying.
Will start with thats too expensive surly it can be done cheaper. Surly doesn't fix cars so it will end back at the start and insurance claim made.

Anyway if they want to protect their NCB they can offer to reimburse their own insurance company.

I used dennings before and they were crap

I used car craft and was very happy with them..... on another note, the owner of dennings has a bunch of classic cars that he likes to keep in perfect condition so anytime they need anything its car craft that does the work on them.

So if you own a big repair garage but don't trust your own lads to work on your car to the point of paying your competidor to do it for you it really says a lot.
