I installed one in my mothers house 6 years ago and it's never given any trouble.

They can be very handy when you have no means of getting a 4" soil pipe into place. If used correctly they can give years of trouble free service.
The only problem with them is that they can be a bit noisy, which could be a bit of a nuisance if used during the night.

Plumbers have said its my only option, I'll have to think about it. Thanks for your comment.

Do you have a carpenter or general builder? I would ask them to see if they can think of any alternative way of getting a 4" pipe through. I have experience of one particular situation (a commercial situation so quite different from yours) where a saniflo was used because the plumber said there was no other way. There were problems with it so we got someone else at it and some ingenuity and hard work found an alternative route.

There is always some way or other of doing the 4" pipe, though it may not be a very attractive option, requiring a 4" box somewhere. But you might be able to fit it under a bed platform or behind a fitted wardrobe if you are doing some work in the house anyway.

Saniflow can work fine, but if you can think of some way of getting a 4" pipe through you will have more peace of mind.

I have one in an attic conversion. +1 on the bit noisy.
Generally it works well . Had one issue where is broke down & stopped totally.
Wasn't a pretty job for the guy fixing it.

Thanks for the reply I'm still in two minds but really would love an ensuite

They can be a disaster if anything gets dropped in so if there is kids around might be a bad idea, really only suitable if there is no alternative for the 4 inch pipe.

Mostly they run for only a few seconds. I don't see the noise as a issue.

I'd only fit in a controlled environment. Eg shop toilets or main bathroom I wouldn't.

They do work and work well in the right circumstances

Plumbers have told me there is no other option, I'm a bit scared now lol.

They make a noise for a few seconds. Nothing that would bother me personally.
It's probably not a saniflo issue but my genius plumber put a right angle on the pipe and it leaked **** everywhere so you want a gradual bend on it.

There is always another option. The problem is that it may involve a large unsightly box elsewhere in the house or some redecoration expense. But there is always an option. Like I say, talk to a general builder/carpenter and get their view.

Sometimes tradesmen want to go for the 'tidy' solution that will get them in and out the quickest. This isn't necessarily always the best solution.

Wouldn't of thought wanting to do a tidy job could be considered a negative.
A properly installed saniflo is a perfect solution. As for not flushing certain things such as baby wipes , earbuds etc , these are all things you shouldn't be flushing regardless of having a saniflo or not . And in the case of the one I fitted in my mothers , there was zero other options which wouldn't of resulted in tripling the cost of the install , so that statement while not entirely untrue , is not always practical.

Its not the flushing of certain items like ear buds and baby wipes its the dropped kids car into the unit that in a normal toilet would at worst cause a bit of a blockage but in a saniflow might require a new saniflow as the internal mechanism can be broken. They can be a great option if there is no practical way to get a 4 inch waste out.

They are the only option if there's no practical way to get a 4 inch waste out. That's the whole point of them!
As for cars down the toilet, keep an eye on the kids and it won't happen. It's like saying I can't buy a new car in case I crash it. Simple fix , don't crash it !

It is tidy in the sense that the tradesman gets in and out very quickly without needing other skills.

Your advice re usage is spot on, but like my advice it is not always practical!

You really have to balance things up.
