I live in Maynooth, we have Tesco, Dunnes and Mastersons Vegetable shops where I can buy food. Where it is possible to buy food in Leixlip? I see only Eurospar shops on the map, are there any shop like Tesco or Dunnes?

No major grocery retailer. There's a Super Valu up Captains Hill, and EuroSpar Barnhall would be the two biggest.

    There's also Lidl

I've never thought about that before but it is a bit of an oddity when you think about it. Celbridge has SuperValu, Tesco, Aldi and Lidl. Maynooth has three of those or maybe all four I'm not sure. Similar population size, I'm surprised none of the major supermarkets ever opened there.

    i'd have thought Market Saturation.

Lucan has Tesco's and SuperQuinn/SuperValu, and one if not two of the Aldi/Lidl brands.

Each of the three nearest towns has at least one of the larger grocery reytailers

Maynooth has all five main food retailers as well as specialists (butchers, greengrocer, fishmonger, delis) which does damage the other towns.

Leixlip is bound by hills and it's at the confluence of two rivers. As a result there's not a lot of space to develop, unlike the other two.

The is Supervalu and Lidl though, and the Tesco in Lucan is only about 2 miles away.

KCC had plans to develop Collinstown (i.e. opposite Intel) into a major urban centre. This plans have come to nothing (no surprise as KCC don't put much emphasis on North Kildare), which is a shame as they're on of the reasons the planning permission for a cinema near Apple Green was refused.
