'FREE' internet in Airports?

So i was in Barcelona airport yesterday, and they advertise free internet.
Once you sign in with your details (email/age) you are given the option of 15minutes free and then €7 for 24 hours etc...

Is there anyway of getting around this charge? I deleted the cookies on my phone to see if it would work, alas it didn't.

I believe there's a way you can do it from a laptop. Just wondering if anyone has ever found a work-around using a phone?

You can imagine how bored i am today

it's probably registering the mac address of the wifi adapter used to connect to it, which is unique for every device.

if you can spoof the mac address that would probably work, but i doubt we're allowed to tell you how if you don't already know, given the dubious nature of spoofing type activities. :)

If you're on Android and your phone is rooted, there's an app to spoof your WiFi Mac address.

I noticed this in Reus airport in Barcelona and also last year in Alicante airport really annoying.

also, worth mentioning that you can't always be sure of what you're connecting to in public places.

it's not unheard of for people to set up a rogue wireless AP from a laptop in public spaces, name it the same (or similar) to the location to make it look like a legit AP, then use it to sniff out login details for online banking, email and social networks etc. as all your web traffic is going directly through them.
