    Hi Folks

I get regular emails form an agency and a lot or them are jobs with the discount retailer Dealz.

I was wondering has anyone worked for them and if so what are the pay and conditions like and is the work enviroment nice?

Do they require 3rd level education qualifications for assistant manger/manager positions?

    Be Grateful for any replies.

    Thank You

A friend of mine got offered a full time job with them, signed a contract and was delighted to come off the dole. Two weeks into the job they cut his hours to six a week and told him they could choose the hours they want for him. He stayed another two weeks and left. He said they promise you everything and than pick and choose your hours as they please. I'd be wary of them

Work there. Views vary between sales assistant and manager. Managers work long hours and the pay for duty managers isnt great. Sales assistants get minimum wage. They have started to cut our hours in the last few months. Bring in more staff and reduce the hours of the staff already there. Hard work and its not a great statisifactory job but other staff in my job are nice. Only benefit is having retail experience in looking for other jobs. In regards to a 3rd level quailification for managers? No they mainly require experience for duty and assistant store managers not sure further up the ladder though

    Thanks for reply.

Any idea what sort of money the managers would be on,weekly salary or hourly rate?
Have a decent job at the moment but always wondered what working for them would be like.

    hi
I used to work for Dealz and I would advice anyone who wanted to work in management level to stay clear. Pay is very poor for the work you put in. The Duty Managers are paid just over min wage and expected to work very long hrs. Assistant Managers again expected to work long hours for about 25000 a year. Your social life dies and if you have family commitments forget about it. The company has a poor track record for training their staff.
I stuck it out for a long time and in one store they had three managers in one year. They move their management around to much and it can be upsetting on staff and management as well. You are not given a choice. All area manager likes to belittle staff and when visiting stores can treat staff like pieces of trash.
    So my advice run

Worked there part time in college and it was grand, staff were really nice but agree with the above the hours were really bad for full timers! Really handy job to have though if you are in college or looking for part time work!

If you are looking for full time I say stay WELL CLEAR! You will get between 8- 16 hours per week ( based on what the full timers got in the company I was working in

    Hey everyone,

Do any of you know what the day long interview process entails for manager jobs with dealz. I got a call to go for a day long interview and would be very interested to know what is involved.

What do they ask at the interview?
What do you have to do?

Any advice / tips greatly appreciated.
