So here's an interesting question folks, just when does a player going on a good run of form become a 'Bandwagon'?
Personally find it a bit annoying when some people say ' oh I spotted that lad doing well and bought him before everyone jumped on the bandwagon'
For example if its a striker that scores two games in a row,and then gets loads of transfers in,his price starts to go up,doesn't score in next game but scores in following two or three, are all the people who bought him after one game lucky or genius at the game;)
My view is luck still plays a big role in the game.

For me, it's when a bad player (or a player who hasn't shown any signs of doing the biz) has a good game, maybe even 2. People sign him in.

People do forget though that there are probably more failed bandwagons usually than there are Adam Johnsons

I'd personally define a 'bandwagon' as the mass transferring in of a player outside of the elite bracket (i.e., someone who hasn't proven that he is usually this good in the past) on the back of just 1 or 2 exceptional games.

Marlon Harewood in 2010 after his opening day brace for Blackpool is a good example.

Sometimes getting on them works really well (Ramsey for example), sometimes it doesn't.

Yeah I would agree with this. Luck still plays a massive part in the game though, its silly to think otherwise. The aim is to make educated guesses (and a few utter gambles!) and hope they work out.

A bandwagon could also be a performing player that you failed to get at a reasonable price :pac:...

    More seriously,

the bold part is the theory.

In practice though, I find it's not that straightforward. You mentioned Ramsey for example. But very quickly last year people should have realised that Ramsey was not a bandwagon. Admittedly he was overperforming from what we knew of his FF history but he seemed to have a lot more allowance to get forward (thanks to Ozil?) and found himself a good finisher.
It was the same with Yaya Touré. I personally couldn't believe that some called him a bandwagon. The guy was always a very consistent FF player, guaranteed a game but his position was a handicap. That said, bar Silva (but he is injury prone) he was always a decent option for people willing a City "cover". Admittedly he largely overperformed last year but like Ramsey we quickly saw that he was given a lot more room to go forward and also more responsibilities with free kicks (and he seemed to discover he had been given some of Platini's talent :P).
So there are some elements to take into account before using the "big word" :D.

There is always a bandwagon from GW1. Gary Cahill one season at Bolton. Danny Graham at Swansea and Harewood at Blackpool are examples.

A bandwagon for me is a player inexplicably transferred in by the masses because of a decent performance or two.

I remember Antoinette Siberiski one season scoring 4 or 5 in six games for Wigan and then not scoring again. That's a bandwagon.

Sometimes jumping on a bandwagon helps though. I gained a decent price rise or two out of Harewood.

a bandwagon is when a player who's barely heard then 1 million people bring him in...ha
