Laptop screen 'jumping'

    Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but my laptop screen keeps 'jumping' back to the top of the page I am reading...most annoying.

    Anyone got an idea how to fix this before I float it out the window! ;)

    What do you mean, like it would scroll back to the top of the web page automatically?

    Could one of the keys on your keyboard be stuck? Does it only happen in the browser or does it happen in other programmes like a word processor or something?

    Check if your "Home" or "Page Up" keys are stuck. Also check is there any damage to your trackpad - some trackpads have a shortcut to home (i.e. the top of the screen - same function as the key above) in one of the corners.

    To be honest it could be anything, try a different web browser (do you have one?) and see if it keeps happening.

    It not only happens when I'm online, say reading the Indo online or any such, and when I'm typing (and as a writer I do a lot most days) and the 'cursor' hops from place to place on the page like a rubber ball, like when I click on a word to make a correction, say on line ten... I find myself correcting a word up on line three!
    Driving me nuts!
