It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Thanks for this. Do you know does it cover travel expenses like petrol or diesel for travelling to and from college if someone wasn't claiming the grant?

    It says on the website:

"Unlike the student grant schemes, you cannot be considered for Student Assistance prior to registering in a participating college."

So i suppose there's no point worrying about it until September

Do they ask for a copy of your bank statement from the past few months?

They do in NUIG. Needed a bank statement, payslip from parents and receipts of equal value to the offered amount. (Makes no sense that you have to have the money spent before you get it but can just show rent or whatever)

Does the bank statement have to be for 3 months or just the last few transactions? Do you know how much you are allowed have in it?

Not sure tbh for both, my girlfriend printed off those smaller statements from the machines inside AIBs which are 6ish months and has less in her account than Ireland and Greece put together. Hasn't heard back that there is something wrong with them so assume its ok. Other colleges may have different requirements.
