This our first running of this event. The course is flat and fast. Entry on the night in St. James' Hall, at the rear of the Post Office , on Main Street in Athboy.

Good race, another one of those fairy tale fast 5k courses they seem to have in Meath won by ex-olympian Mark Kenneally. Only thing bad i can say about it is, the finishing area was a mess, traffic should not have been allowed down that way, seen one car trying to force runners off the road as they approached the finish. Other than that the Fr Murphy Club are to be applauded.

Yep defo need better traffic managment at end as saw runners nearly getting knocked down. Even though the stewards done there job thought they could have been more surport around very very few said anything as you passed few words of encouragment goes a long way

Agree entirely with other comments here. A brilliant flat 5k course with lots of prizes & fine spread after, but traffic was very dangerous. I had to try to dodge between a huge tractor & car on Main Street & then more dodging traffic at finish. Will be back next year but would hope for improvements as just luck somebody wasn't hurt

Enjoyed the race, only deciding to do on the evening. Yes you needed to have you wits about with traffic, but running this one with headphones equally mad, yet saw quite a few. Knocked a few seconds off PB, but chip didn't register, just as well had the Garmin.
