Coming off disability allowance?

I've been on the disability allowance for a few months, for a fairly minor mental problem. While at the time I don't feel I couldve worked, and truthfully I was pretty much forced into it, but, recently, my problem has improved a lot, and I feel I could work part time. And to be honest, I don't want to be on the welfare, I'd rather work for my money even if I was coming out with less. Anyway, I'd like to look for a part time job and come off it. What process should I take when it comes to this? Do I need to inform employers I was on it and the reason why? And do I need to come off the disability allowance before searching for work? Or can I search for work and then come off it if I find a job?

You can work and earn €120 per week and still get all of your DA.
Even if you get more than €120 you still get some of your DA.
If you find a part time job you just write to DA, tell them you are working and send them a payslip.
You don't have to tell your employer that your on DA..

Be careful. Try the few hours that you are allowed to do before signing off DA. You might relapse or it might not go as you envisage. Mental problems have a habit of showing up again.

This may also affect me in the near future so have a similar question. What is the most you can earn while still retaining some level of DA? And what happens to other benefits such as Medical Card and Travel pass?
