I usually wear my hair curly/wavy, with a side fringe which I normally blow dry straight. I'm not great at styling it myself, would it be a good idea to invest in a hair straightener, and what brand would you recommend?

Just bought a Remington Keratin Therapy Pro S8590 last week. Was half price in Boots, €59.99. It's excellent, gets great reviews too, best straighteners I've ever had.

I have one of these and have had it about 8 years now. It's amazing.

GHD is the best hair straightener I've used, have mine five years and it's still going strong. Obviously it's going to damage your hair if you're using it everyday without any heat protection but if you look after your hair, it will be fine.

Or you could opt for a Babyliss Big Hair Spinning Brush if you want to keep a soft wave in your hair rather than having it dead straight, it gives a much better result than blow drying imo.
