Unfinished estate - developer in Receivership - legal status as creditors?

    Is there any solicitor on this forum who can advise us in the following:

    Unfinished estate is not being completed as per planning permission. Receiver currently proposing only do what Local Authority insist on. LA seem to want to keep it basic as they will be taking it in charge. Ignoring from effect of recession and negative equity, our houses are worth half what they should be (what houses in estates with similar layout/density/etc. have been selling for in last year or two) and because of the high density and location there is a serious risk of the estate becoming a ghetto unless the finish and facilities are above average. Do owners have a legal status as creditors which would help us to put pressure on the Receiver? Or indeed a legal case against the LA who allowed the developer to release too many houses at a time without checking it was being done according to planning and since construction halted have had a disdainful attitude towards owners and tried to communicate with us as little as possible?

    OP, if you want to put pressure on the local authority, you need an organised residents' association to deal with your local authority representative; City or County Councillor.

    A sizeable number of votes from a decent residents' association should be incentive enough for any politician.

    If the receiver is selling houses, he will have money.

    If the receiver is not selling houses, then it is hard to know from where the money will come to provide these additional estate services.
