    Hi guys,

I've been out a bit on the bike of late with the lovely weather and was hoping to do a sportive preferably around the 50/60k mark if possible this weekend or in the coming weeks in the Dublin/Meath area. Any more than 50/60k would be a bit much for me at the moment. Tbh 50/60k is pushing me.

So I looked on cycling ireland and the only ones this weekend are in Wexford and Kilkenny which are too far away for me at the moment for reasons I wont go into. There is one starting in the Phoenix park but its going to the west but its not a loop.

I see theres one happening in Ashbourne next weekend. That'll suit me and hopefully I'll take part in it but I was hoping for something this weekend.

So is there anything in Meath/Dublin this weekend that isnt on the calander?

Also any more coming up in the coming weeks in the Dublin/Meath area that ye would recommend?

    thanks a mil,
    Eoin

Probably gonna go with the slightly shorter 44km route in Ashbourne on the same day instead.

Being honest I'm unsure what I'm capable of. I'd say the 44k should be doable enough, 50/60k will be tougher but should still be doable.
Probably no harm just trying the 44k first. Plus its closer to where I live.

    Cheers for the idea though.

There's one in Dunshauglin on Aug 16th and Nicholas Roche is leading it out. 60 km and 100 km and a family spin. I got a leaflet at the Meath Heritage. There's one on Bank Holiday monday somewhere near enough too but I lost that leaflet

Dunshaughlin would suit me perfectly. Its only down the road. I did a quick search and couldnt find anything on it though.
    Any links by any chance?

Would be interested in seeing where the one on the bank hol monday is also.

    Cheers!!

ps there really should be a dedicated website for ALL sportives happening. From what I can tell its a bit here, a bit there and hope that someone tells you or you hear it from somewhere else by pure chance.

ps ps... just found the Dunshauglin sportive. For anyone else who's interested http://www.meath-summer-classic.com/

East Meath Cycle Tour from Stamullen on August 17th.
    70k/100k routes.
Also irishsportives.ie is a good resource for nationwide sportive events.

thanks for that on the 17th but I'll probably do the one on the 16th in Dunshaughlin. Slightly shorter and closer to me.

Thanks for the website. Looks good.

I just had a load of leaflets handed to me after the An Post Heritage on Sunday, one I recall was on this Monday. Can't remember where unfortunately but I considered it at the time. Thought I kept them all.

Dont worry bout it Weepsie. I appreciate it.

Surely that should say Ardee... hey. :p

Doubt I'll venture that far but thanks anyway. Also bank holiday monday I think I'll keep free for nothingness. I know.. ,lazy.
