Hello All. Regular poster here on the forum and sorry to start a new topic if people think its not warranted....

As the title says I want to play one course in Dublin within this range. Im in off a long haul flight in the morning and Im waiting for the other half to land that evening on a different flight before leaving the city. Preferably a links but parkland is good too. What are the best options for this budget? Id like to play a course with some good tradition or acclaim. any tips on cheap green fee offers etc etc would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Portmarnock Hotel & Links ticks all your boxes imo.

Very handy for the airport, midweek rack rate is €45. Think Wed's is open day but not sure if it's semi open or not. Excellent course imo.

Don't think you'd go wrong with Corballis or Portmarnock Links.

Obvious question - how are you going to get about? Taxi, bus? That may limit your options.
Tips on green fees? Look for a twilight or early bird rate. You're in peak season, so not that many deals going around for lone golfers.

You can get the 102 from the airport to Portmarnock and hop off at the Spar, short walk to the course from there.

Think the fee is 45 midweek.

Don't hop off at Spar, that's a good 15 min walk away. The 102 stop pretty much right beside it, ask the bus driver to give you a shout when you're there.

The Portmarnock beach spar is the one, right opposite the beach

Agree with this OP, just make sure it's the right Portmarnock you go to!

Portmarnock is the only links bar Corballis in your price range. Great value and would recommend as well.

    Have you got clubs?

There is an arrange a game thread on this forum and you may actually be able to organise getting out to play with someone off here if you ask in there.

Old Portmarnock is the one that held Irish Open - mad money.

But the other course Portmarnock Links is as good - if not better.

You won't get a course at that value as good for long in Ireland - so go for Portmarnock Links - (this is not the one that held Irish Open).

Old course is €185 a round mid week during the summer.

Old course ain't for the likes of us, but you can send a letter in and ask to play for free on Christmas Day, go down with an old flat cap scrunched in your hand for effect.

It was just €35 (with a 3 course dinner) in the member/guest week that's on there this week. Friend of a friend invited us out this year and last year - its a link I hope to keep for a long time!

Only 1 flaw - not too many people , know people who know people there.
