    Goodwood 1:55

    Wigmore Hall
, is one I’ve selected a couple of times in the hope he is being readied for a go at a handicap, and if se tomorrow is as good a chance as hell get. He is off a career low mark and back to decent ground over 10 furlongs it should be about right for him. We are taking a leap of faith as he hasn’t done anything at all this year but he’s worth a min bet at 33/1 with 5 place just in case.

    ½ Point EW 33/1 Coral 5 Places

    Goodwood 5:20

    Stone of Folca
is turning into a bit of a cliff horse for me but I’ll give him another shot at a huge price on his favoured good-firm ground. He is down to a low mark after a few poor runs this season but he’s worth another risk at 33/1

    ½ Point EW 33/1 Various

Garswood ew seems unbelievable at 7-1

Calibrate in the topaz ew also great value with Roche on board

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,340 ✭✭✭sdoc13

    3.40 goodwood

Really like van Persie, had awful draw in the Northumberland plate and ran respectably. Had no chance of winning with the draw. pp money back if 2nd or 3rd so 2pts win @ 9/1.

Is Toormoor a good thing tomorrow?

What do folks think of this?
Looks the class act but risky enough at 7/4
Be surprised if not good enough to beat parbold and most of the others

Prefer to watch myself at that price

Was just about to say I'd be quite keen to take him on.

Newbie here but 2 bets for me tomorrow.
Garswood in the Lennox at Goodwood. Hard to get a good grip on Toormore tbh. All he's really done this year is won a trial. This boyo won this last year, has Moore up and looked to be coming back to form lot.

And Domination serious NAP material in the Latin Quarter Chase at Galway. Classy in all codes. Best in at the weights. A decent run over fences 2 weeks ago and has form at Galway albeit on the flat. 5/2 on the v early boards. Should nearly be odds on imho.

Short price, but Beacon is a good thing for the Molecomb.

Think Garswood is an absolute hound

Not sure Toormore wants it as sharp as 7f and with the trip perfect for Gregorian, he's got to be the bet after his brilliant run behind Slade Power in the July Cup. Trainer is obviously in fine form and more than happy to take 7/2 but hopeful there'll be bigger in morning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,931 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Galway 6:40 - Jacks Revenge has some very capable Ascot form and is George Baker's only runner at Galway this week. English horses have been flying when come over here, so think this one could be a bit of a dark horse.

Galway 7:10 - Cassells Rock, got a nice run out there recently on the flat. To me at least, it wasn't put into the race to win in order to try and keep the handicap mark at a nice level to make this race. Fran Berry will know what he needs to do to get this one to win after riding it last time.

Loads of Irish horse making the trip over to Perth. Going to take a closer look at the card tomorrow to see can I find the 2 that will win :pac:

Toormore is a winner over C/D. Gregorian has had a couple of tough races within the space of a few weeks.

I'm more worried about the rest of the
Field than gregorian for that reason and Parbold as I dont rate the horse that highly
There's a couple of big priced placed
Horses in this if not a winner

Id be wanting at least 9/4 5/2 on toormore to be a backer

Boom and Bust is 9/1 to place in the 3.05 at Goodwood with Bet365. Only 4/1 with PP. Horse always needs his comeback run so great to see he ran so well at Chester two weeks ago. Third in this race last year when run on soft ground all his wins have been on firmer ground. (Plus had no prep run last year and still finished 3rd). Loves Goodwood four runs here 1/4/3/2. Markus Tregoning is in great form at the moment with 27 runners in July getting 7 winners and 6 placed horses. Really think Tregoning has had this race in mind for Boom and Bust for awhile now and with worries over the ground for a few in this field i think the 9/1 to place is great value. And with first time cheekpieces on i'll also have a small win bet just incase.

Think oor jock 7.45 gal day will be today. took the 9/1 already. His last run looked to me like they wanted a price for Galway. I know he failed to land a blow when monster gamble failed earlier in yr, but he has proven he has ability by winning twice since and having looked at last run i though with a better ride he could have won, Coming from that yard I’d say last run was planned to be like that and I’d ignore it from equation. Serious value at 9/1

On myself - his record at Goodwood speaks for itself. Fingers crossed he gets in the places.

Working at track today so wont be able to get to bookies or anything :-( Can anyone suggest a lucky 15 of the day (including Goodwood I guess) to keep me entertained. I don't have time to study card. Prices don't really matter but say if its an ew L15 or win. Cheers guys

A Weld Tuesday could be on the cards there today.

4 runners well fancied and taking good money. Text from yard to have a few quid on the following.

    I'll do multiples and singles.

6.05 Chinese Light @ 6/4 (saver bet on Cocoon, big gamble last week which failed, 10s into 6s already)
    6.40 Defining Year @ 6/1 (opened @ 10s)
    7.10 Hidden Universe @ 4/1 (opened @ 7s)
8.15 Antique Platinum @ 3/10 (no value, will be thrown into doubles and trebles)

Even with a clear run Beacon wasnt winning that race today.

Beacon unlucky . I think he would have won if he did not need to go around Fast Act

Why he had to drift across the track losing momentum and stayed on to lose by 1/2 a length.

Beacon prob needs 6f he seemed to be niggled a bit before anyone else.

He finished 3rd not like he was switched ran all the way to the line and was beaten a neck. Run the race again and i think Cotai Glory would still win.

Toormore just not up to it - not even a G2 winner based on that as he had everything in his favour there and was well beaten

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,931 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

You'd go broke backing horses at Goodwood.

Yep, I got burned with him earlier in the year. Not so sure that he's gone as a horse, he was staying on at the end and may do better when stepped up in trip.

I'd back him again over a mile or further, but only if he was a big price.

yep, you only had the English & Irish Derby winner, the Dante & French Derby winner, the English Derby runner up, and the Prix Jean Prat 1st & 2nd, all behind him at Newmarket.
