Does Consciousness Create Reality?

Ok so I was reading up on quantum physics (as you do) and the article led to another and another and so on until I came across this.

    The jist of it is:

Everything happens at the same time. Past, present and future are all happening at once. Its only when observed by humans do we separate between. Yesterday is only different because we perceive it as yesterday.

Take a look at the "double slit experiment". Reality changes when observed by humans.

    This demonstrates all

Is anything certain until it is observed? If we observe anything as past, present or future does it become such?

    Does Consciousness Create Reality?

PS: Not drunk or on pharmaceuticals. Honest!

Well when you think about it we created the concept of time.

If you're a character in a DVD. then yes. Because the User can select any moment he wants and it will be now.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I propose a triple slit experiment be carried out.

Well when you think about it we created the concept of time.

    We did.

Our view of the observable universe is highly subjective. In that sense, our perception of reality is very much driven by our conscious.

    This is precisely correct.

No havent seen it in years. I seem to recall something about a bunny and something falling the sky.

    Could have been the bunny.

You can probably do it on a 3D printer now.

Everything is a hologram, its not real, matter just makes you think its real, but when its all broken down to the atom we see this.

As 'out there' an idea as it is, it's actually hard to prove definitively that consciousness - whatever that is - doesn't create reality (but there probably is a way to prove that, which a smart enough physicist could tell you).
It's so incredibly unlikely and self-important an idea though, that believing it would require a near-religious level of belief, so the best answer is "I don't know; probably not".

Sure didn't I meet you for that pint and you did not, have not and will not buy me a pint.

The double slit experiment tends to be misunderstood. Yeah, humans observing it causes the results to change but only because in order to observe it we need to fire photons at it. The photons react and cause the result to change.

It's not like the particles "know" they're being observed. It's just a side effect of the way in which we observe them. Kind of takes away from the mystical-ness of it.

Considering consciousness has only existed for a minute fraction of the time that the universe has been in existence, I would have to say no.

If reality required consciousness then surely there would be no reality as we no it, considering that there were no conscious beings in existence in order to create the reality that we have come to inhabit in the first place.

It's apparently not as clear cut as that.

In an experiment called the delayed choice quantum eraser, it was demonstrated that it is not simply the act of measurement that changed the result, but the ability of such a measurement to pinpoint through which slit a photon actually went through.

    The plot thickens

Can we just get back to chastising Catholics and the unemployed in here? All this talk of physics is quite frightening.
