    Help - its SOOOO hard.

I need to pick colours for 2 sets of alcove units and 2 fireplaces (one room with little enough light - north west facing - with 'Minimal' by Colour Trend on the walls. The other is south facing - paintable wallpaper - a darker hue to the minimal but similar.

    Any help or suggestions?

Dark on the fireplace and lighter on the alcoves?
Same colour fireplace/alcoves but different hue?

Green greys rather than light greys?

    Thanks everyone

I think all the same colour would look great.
The grey would depend on the light into room.

    - we're keen not to have the same colour - we kinda have that already and need some colour in the room.

    Which grey depending on light?

    Hi
When you say Alcove units do you mean there is shelving in the alcoves? Or blank walls?
Could you post a photo of each?

Like that - no pic - sure we haven't built them yet!!!! Colour goes on last after the build.

If the fire surround and shelving are going to be the same as each other (as per photo) then you have lots of choices.
I would suggest keep the fireplace wall as per the main walls (Colortrend Minimal) & then beef up the alcoves with a much stronger colour, keeping in mind your other furnishings.

For example take a look at a darker but still similar tone - Colortrend 0177 Weavers Tool
The impact of the strong colour will be lessened by the shelving itself.

The reason for keeping the fireplace wall the same as the walls generally is to create a unified look.

hope that helps - if you want to post the details of the other colour similar to Minimal we can try to assist with that also :-)

What colour is your furniture/floors/curtains etc? Is there an overall "theme"; do you have a favourite piece of art that will be in the room and can you colour theme to compliment it? just ideas.......
