    Hey guys,

Got a mole taken off my forearm yesterday. Have 4 stitches and doctor told me not too lift any weights for 10 days until my stitches are out as they will probably split open.

Can anyone recommend some other activites while trying to preserve muscle mass. Of course i plan to do plenty of corework, stretching and cardio but id be hoping to minimize muscle loss and keep active at the same time

Any recommendations at all welcome :)

Do nothing and in ten days you'll get that lovely soreness back for a whole after lifting

I'd be the same but, to be honest, when I've had enforced breaks in the past oh a week or so it's done me the power of good and I didn't lose much/any strength.

You can do bodyweight squats and the like to keep things ticking over bit even if you don't, you'll lose very little .

But I appreciate how hard it is to do nothing.

Nothing. There is literally nothing you can do. Half assed bodyweight stuff when you're injured or on holidays is just wasted effort and contributes nothing if you're in any way strong and looking to get stronger or bigger.

10 days is nothing as far as a break goes, it will have literally no negative impact, your body is not some sneaky masked cartoon fox looking to steal your muscle mass the second you turn your back.

The people asking how to bring whey onto planes or where are the best gyms in Tenerife really leave me scratching my head. You people are willing to risk losing their anal virginity to a gloved spanish border official to keep dem gainz.

^^ I've actually followed kevpants advice from years ago, about taking a decent amount of time off physical training/lifting (soz, only benching 85kg untrained betafag) once a year. Back in Ireland, 10 days in and it's great watching everyone out yogging, and paint-running... It's like my life is inverted to everyone elses.

If those stitches pop or get infected, you are not going to have a good time. Just chillax and stay away from any gyms, pools or whatever. They'll still be there when you get back.

Sorry but i think you have me mistaken with a bodybuilder. Ive had 3 weeks off in October/Nov due to surgery, 1 week off in Jan. February and March due to a large tattoo piece im getting. I just dont like the idea of being inactive due to a few stitches on my forearm. Its not great. And i dont think theres anything wrong with bodyweight exercises either. Im not injured or on holidays but i do plan to go end of August so again another 10 days off over a small cut isnt reason for a break in my opinion

Indeed i wont risk popping them at all. They are covered for now and its not even gym work im interested in just doing exercises to keep the mind ticking over and feeling good. I tend to feel pretty crappy when i dont get some form of activity im already at a desk 9-5

My point was life will throw breaks at you so just accept them. If you find yourself doing dips on a chair in the room of a 5 star hotel while an attractive lady waits for you to be done you need to reassess your goals.

By the same token, remember these breaks that made you so frustrated next time you feel like skipping leg day.

    Try this instead

    Back
    Shoulders
    Arms
    Corework
    Legs 1
    Chest
    Legs 2
