Was looking for one of these and found Smyths toys are selling the newest ones for €180,

they are €209 on the apple store

here is the price on the Smyth's webpage: here

also she wanted a pink or silver one, smyths in kinsale road cork only had them in black, so we went to harvey normans, showed them the smyths webpage and they price matched a pink 16GB 5th generation for €180,

as an aside, if anyone is buying one in smyths before the 31st of July you can try to use this voucher too and get another €6 off:

Apple have just changed the iPod lineup a little a few weeks back. The old 16GB iPod Touch differed from the other models because of the lack of a rear camera. It was replaced by one with a camera and is now identical to the 32/64GB models. If you get one with the rear camera for the €180 price it's a decent price, but the camera-less one has been discontinued and reduced to clear in most places now.

The staff member in Harvey Norman was probably unaware so you probably got the newer one with the camera from them. Getting the price match would be the better thing to do if the Smyths one is the older model.

her's does have the rear camera and led flash, i didn't realise there was a difference to be honest,

it also has the loop pop out bit,

it doesn't say if its the older model in smyths, but if it's only in black and silver i'd guess so.

now i feel bad, i didn't know about the differences! :(

If it has the rear camera then its the newer one but you'd have to check it out and see first before you buy. Thats the only real difference though.
