Just spotted this on Boxrec.com. Scheduled for September 13th on Mayweather card. Haven't heard anything about it anywhere else. Could be a tough nights work for Andy & possibly his last shot at a world title. Back up to middleweight also. Stacked undercard as well with Leo Santa Cruz & Keith Thurman on.

The only titleholder Lee would actually have a shot at beating imo. Qullin isn't great at all.

Agree. I've never been convinced by Quillin. He seems to fight 'scared' and has a manufactured look about him. I'd still favour him to beat Andy, but he is definitely beatable.

Would love Andy to win. His career has fizzled but a win here will secure him a very respectable place in Irish boxing history no matter what else happens.

I think people are underrating Quillin a bit here, I'd have him as solid world class level without being spectacular but he's still a level above Lee, what has Lee done to show he can beat Quillin? Handy points win for Quillin.

Is this fight actually confirmed, haven't seen or heard anything about it apart from it being listed on Boxrec.

    Would seem it isn't happening.

@AndyLeeBoxing is NOT fighting Quillin... We believe @mattmacklin wants the fight. @EddieHearn let's make it happen!!

I think folks are more saying that Quillin would be Andy's best chance at a belt. Though, Cotto too wouldn't be my idea of great at MW.

I would expect Quillin to stop Lee if he puts on the pressure. Lee is not close to world class. He's probably even a level below the Macklin's and Murray's.

Hearn is talking about either Lee or Murray against Macklin in the 02. As much as I would love to see Lee / Macklin, Murray / Macklin is a far better and will be a war especially if the winner gets potentially a crack at Cotto.

There was a bit in the Irish Independent about a potential clash with Cotto in the MSG on Dec 13th. That would be nice.

Lee doesn't want to fight anyone of worth yet, slowly building his way up. Cotto's too big of a name to bag

He has never fought anyone of note anyway apart from an overrated Chavez Jr and got crushed.

The Cotto fight was apparently being touted as a real possibility. According to boxing journalist Steve Kim, Cotto's team rejected it because they felt Lee was too tall. Bizarre if true, on several levels.

Lee never deserved a shot at Cotto anyways so their reasons for refusing him doesn't come into play for me.

Well according to an interview I saw with Roach yesterday, Lee and Kirkland are the two options Cotto's team are considering at the moment. I don't think Cotto is particularly interested in finding the most 'deserving' opponent.

That's one of the funniest things I've heard, Cotto doesn't duck anyone and supposedly doesn't want to fight Andy ****ing Lee. :pac: I'd bet money on that not being true.
