Hi all, I just had a really scary incident and needed to vent. I was just walking into work, and someone in front of me dropped their phone. I picked it up and jogged up to them and gave it back, all grand.

But then this group of 3 guys with a big dog started screaming ' excuse me excuse me' mimicking me, then started shouting that I was a whore and a tramp and a slut and be careful no-one pushes me under a bus. They followed me for ages and I got stuck beside them at a busy junction all the while they were screaming at me. I finally lost them but I'm so shakey now. I don't even.know why I'm posting I kind of just didn't know what to do!

oh no you poor thing, what a horrible thing to happen, very frightening, and all because you were doing a good deed! I just don't understand these types of people AND aswell how no one else around you didn't tell them to back off.

Definitely a day to treat yourself to a big 99 I think!

    Feel better soon.

Thank you so much everyone for replying. I'm still quite tearful and feeling sorry for myself! I don't know why they targeted me, it seemed to start with them mimicking me running after the guy. I never felt unsafe walking to work before now! And lots of people around too.

I feel ridiculous even saying this but I'm quite worried about the walk from work now,its half an hour. I hate feeling vulnerable like this! Really glad I posted here tho thank you

Sorry you went through it. I hope you are ok. Try to do something to take your mind off it.

They want you to be vulnerable. Maybe walk with someone.

Chances are you'll never see them again, but if you wanted to you'd be well within your rights to report it to the Gardaí, especially the bit in bold which sounds like a threat. No doubt an empty one just to scare you for their own amusement, but if they have a habit of doing that to people and are known to Gardaí it could help someone else if they have trouble with them.

In any case it sounds like a very unpleasant start to your day, I hope you don't have to deal with anything like it again!

Thanks again everyone, your kind words really have helped. I feel a bit better now I'm Home safe, I felt very vulnerable walking out from work, which I have never felt before. I might try and get company for the walk from now on, or figure an alternative route. I was robbed a few months ago too which is probably adding to my upset! I definitely feel better than this morning though
