hyundai i30 diesel automatic?

    hi all,

I used to own a hyundai i30 petrol auto in australia. 2.0 litre, 2010. great car for city living and weekend breaks. Little or no maintenance with the car so was ideal and was very sad to see it go.

the standard version back here is typically a 1.6 litre engine. checking online it seems the 1.6 CDRI comfort diesel version is the most popular. may have to go auto again because of a foot injury. However the one thing I noticed with the previous petrol car that it got a bit noisy, diesel automatic is likely to be noisier again. Would use bluetooth quite a bit while driving as I'm on the phone a bit with work. So that might be a worry for me.

Has anyone any experience (good, bad or indifferent) re the Hyundai i30 1.6l CDRI Comfort drive, Diesel Auto circa 2010-2012?

Also if Im going spending 12k-13k or so this car, would I be better off spending a few k more and looking for a Passat or something similar?
