Wanna buy a car in UK/Northern Ireland...

Hey! I am looking at getting a car with a highish spec in the UK or N Ireland.

Can you recommend quality, reputable UK online motor websites or garages where I could look for this car?

Is it possible to get someone to drive the car over to Dublin or do most people go themselves...?!

<snip>. They specialize in importing Uk reg cars. When you purchase they run them through NCT. Be careful in that even though the car has passed the NCT, they may have only temporary changed parts I.e tyres, for the NCT. Also the warrenty of 3 months is no use as they forget to mention that it is only gearbox and engine until you ring with an issue with the car after driving it, like I had about after a week and was told that nothing was covered and they had no mechanic available. Beware, advise, drive to Northern Ireland and purchase if you want the uk higher spec.

Onus is really on the buyer to ensure anything sold with the car, including any warranty, is satisfactory to them. As long as its not mis-sold as a full warranty but only covers engine and gearbox, then I see no issue. Also, accepting a warranty that just covers engine and gearbox is laughable and serious blunder on the behalf of the buyer.

No connection to the garage myself but you can't slate them for something you didn't check or verify before parting with cash.

NCT is also just a snap shot of that car, at that time, its frankly meaningless once the car leaves the test centre. Again, the onus on the buyer to ensure the car is up to spec.

What was the exact issue with the car?

Surely they inly put them through the re-reg procedure at the NCTS not the actual NCT test?
