First time gaming pc build. €900 -€1000

    Hi guys. Making the jump from console to pc for gaming. I have a budget of 900-1000 euro and already own a bitfenix prodigy itx case. Any advise on the build would be a big help.


    1. What is your budget? €90"-€1000

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming (bf4, dayz arma3 etc) downloading music and films and small bit of video editing for fun.

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? No

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? Bitfenix prodigy itx, mouse and keyboard

    5. Do you need a monitor? No t.v. For now

    5a. If yes, what size do you need. [19'/20'/22'/24'/etc.]

    5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? 1920x1080p

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? No

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Yes

    8. How can you pay? Laser

    9. When are you purchasing? 7-14 days

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Carlow

    New I 7 4790k about 315 cooler and faster than 4770k.

    And a z97 board.

    Any suggestions on psu not sure if this is strong enough.

    500 will cut it. Card tops 300 w max leaves 200 for the rest. Even with overclock.

    You can bump up to a 600w if you feel more comfortable. About 10 Euro more.

    Where you getting prices.

    Thanks buddy. One last question would you suggest a water cooling system like a h100i or should the stock cpu cooler cut it?

    Where you get the prices. The 500 w seems a little high so in guessing not hardwareversand?

    stock will be fine on a CPU not overclocked. But you are getting a k CPU so may as well get the proper cooler.

    be quiet! SYSTEM POWER 7 600W 53.60

    6 odd euro more than the 500w.

    It is not modular but is a silver rating PSU. Bit better quality too.

    Noctua NH-D14 cooler have a look at that one.

    The Asus gtx 770 is 266 using geizhals, so saves a few.
