    Hi folks,

Contemplating upgrading my 1GB 7850. Battlefield 4 loads extremely slowly due to the lack of VRAM (apparently..) and I've been playing it online quite a bit these days. Since the new consoles have released it looks as though new games just don't like having only 1GB RAM, COD Ghosts stutters quite a bit online even with settings turned down.
Looking for a card which can play most games inc. new ones like Battlefield 4, Watch Dogs, Ghosts etc. in good FPS at high/ultra settings. I game at 1920x1080 so I reckon a 4GB GPU should suffice?
I've been thinking a Radeon 270x would suit the bill perfectly. Do the AMD cards still offer better performance for the price? Looking on Hardwareversand they are <€200. What about this for example? Is 4GB overkill for 1080p gaming or is it a safe bet as the new consoles are loaded up with VRAM?
Btw system specs: CPU: Intel Core i5 3350 @3.1Ghz, Mobo: ASRock B75M, Memory: 16GB RAM

    Thanks,

    Nick

I'd go for an R9 280, 4GB would be overkill, 3GB should be more than enough. 4GB is only really needed on 1440p or multi-monitor setups. The faster clock speed should give you a better frame-rate. If you can install the game on your SSD do, it benefits quite a bit from it and your load times will be 1/4 of what they were.

Thanks Lukker, am quite ignorant when it comes to video cards these days! Would this be a good choice?

No problem. Yeah looks a good value. That's definitely your best bang for buck sub €200 anyways. Enjoy!

Cheers man, ordered it there! Came to €186.89 with the €5 voucher code for hardwareversand, thanks again for the advise :)
