Clammy weather--- so uncomfortable

Today was a day that I would gladly have headed for a nudist colony if such was available. I began the day with a white knee length linen wrap skirt and finished with a light poly cotton maxi dress. I felt equally uncomfortable in both. The fabric just seemed to glue to my skin. Any suggestions?-- And please, -- Just come out the right side of my mid life crisis, so no minis or skimpy shorts

I think it is importanthat your underwear is cotton (or silk if you can afford it!) and that your footwear is breathable, preferably leather sandals or maybe open toe shoes if you are in work.

Then you are right to be wearing linen or cotton outer clothing (just check labels to check it is not a blend). Light colours and loose fotting are best.

However, having said that, if like me you are fair, freckly and Irish you are probably going to be sticky and uncomfortable in this weather no matter what! It is not what we were made for.

Try wearing a suit and tie! ;) I envy girls who can wear flow-y dresses to work and have most of their arms / legs exposed.

All I'll say is, avoid anything polyester.

I hate dressing for this weather. I want to look season-appropriate but my office is air-conditioned to sub-arctic levels. Sitting here with my suit jacket on, which I will ditch the second I go out the door for lunch.

I love dressing for this weather! I get to wear sleeve-less tops and skirts to work, which are usually accompanied by jackets, cardis and tights for the most part but not in this weather!

We open out all the blinds and windows in the office and let as much sun light in as possible and I swear this "glorious weather" puts my boss in a great mood.

Only problem is my make up yesterday was nearly sliding off my face with the heat.

What they wear in hot countries - loose, light cotton fabrics.
In India women go to work in a Salwar Khameez, or a saree; with flip-flops of some kind, usually. That's all, and it is enough! I find that a knee-length loose cotton dress, with no tight places, is about the nearest equivalent. Cotton knickers are recommended, of course.
Keep a small damp towel near you for a quick wipe over face and back of neck - great tip. It needn't even disturb your eye-make-up! And hair off the face - it gets very sweaty and sticks to you. Drink plenty of plain water, too.

Just my tuppenceworth, after much travelling!

This weather makes me really really glad to work in the tech industry. Can wear whatever I want to work :) Have a strappy summer dress on today, yesterday was tank top and denim shorts :)
