Android phone interfering with Sky On Demand/eFibre

Wondering if someone can give me an answer to this one? Simple solution hopefully.

I have Eircom eFibre which up until recently has been working very well with my Sky On Demand over wifi.

Got a new Motorola Moto E android 4.3 Kit Kat. The phone connects to the eFibre in the house but interfers with the On Demand. When the phone is turned on, moving through the On Demand menu becomes very sluggish. Press a remote button and I have to wait a few seconds for the On Demand to respond. Turn the phone off and On Demand is back to norm.

Any ideas how to fix this? Cheers.

Is there a rogue app in the phone taking all the bandwith? Upload in particular?

Only have the phone a week so small number of apps. First smartphone/android. I'll disable some of the apps and see if that makes a difference.

Leave the moto e turned on but turn off it's WiFi and then check sky go. This is just to confirm that it's something to do with WiFi.

Just did that - turned wifi off on Moto E and On Demand back to norm i.e. slick/fast moving through menu.

Haven't had a chance to look at all the apps - most of them are pre-installed Motorola or Google + 4/5 basic ones I installed.

Is there anything else I could check on the phone that might be causing this interference?

As a quick fix I changed the wifi on the phone from the efibre router to TP-LINK in a different room. Seems to have fixed the problem and On Demand is back working.

Have you two different wifi networks operating at the same time, never really a good idea. Can you disable one of them?

I didn't get a chance to check this out.

My eircom efibre router is in one room - across the hall in the living room the Sky box connects to this wifi.

I have a TP-LINK at the router with a homeplug in the kitchen as the wifi tends to drop in that area. This wifi extends into the living room where the efibre wifi is already. I sometimes use a Acer android tablet in the living room and I connect to the TP-LINK wifi with no problems.
