I attend a university in dublin, i am ready to go into my fourth and final year but I want to quit college, even talking about it is making me annoyed! Academia is not for me. It's no secret. I am ambitious and confident, a team leader.
i just got a job 3 weeks ago and am already in training for a managerial position, I am thrilled. I find college so utterly unrewarding. I love my job. I love the bad days and worse ones. I have no passion for uni.

I started uni in 2011, since April 2012 ive been anti deps for anxiety and clinical depression and my debts are just over 10,000€. My fees went up 12% for final year.

Everyone is saying stick it out but this job is great money, above all i adore it.

I study languages, i speak 6 and i work in business, always have done.

Is not returning to college in sept a terrible idea?

    I cant stand it . .

Defer your final year and work! If you change your mind you can always take your place back up in September 2015.

Alternatively you could enquire about completing your course at night? Even do 30 credits a year for the next 2 years, a lot less pressure!

You're so close to finishing your course it would be a pity!

If i defer (not quit) it wont go to waste. My fees are extortionate. I would much rather cut my losses you see. It looks like my grades would also be pretty average. No matter how hard i try i get average grades. I don't care about them. I care about work, customers. Good point, i won't always have a job. However, there are a serious amount of university graduates (who I know) who are working in newsagents and disco cloak rooms for lack of a job).

If i defer, the only reason I would ever resume my degree would be if I was jobless..

    Thank you for your replies
