I have aquired rights as i have my truck licence since before september 2009 but i have not done 1 module of a cpc since then. ( not been employed as a truck driver since so didnt see the point in getting it.
I have been asked to drive a 7 ton truck for two weeks in August but am i legal to drive?
I cant start the application process to get my CPC in the meantime but i dont want to lose my licence if im not legal.

You'll need to get the 5 modules completed before you can drive.

Anyone who is currently driving a truck should have 4 CPC modules all ready completed with the 5th one done on or before the 9th of September 2014,There is also exemptions to not having to do the CPC modules but it depends on a number of things.

I dont know how he is getting away with that.If you drive full time you must either have the 4/5 certs for the CPC, or have the card. The only way to "get around" not having them is if you are not driving full time.Other words, you are working at something else, and occasionally use a truck to transport something.

I did one module and since I'm not driving I didn't bother with the rest. Thought it was longer than 4 years ago.

You should have at least 4 done by now to work fulltime as a h.g.v driver.
I got my 5th one 3 months ago when I got the chance too, but I had until the 9th of the 10th this year to get it
Anyone know how I get the card now ?

AFAIK they post it out to you. I got my EC CPC card by grandfather rights and if I ever get a job driving I'd need to do the 5/6 modules then I'd get the ED added to the CPC card.

I haven't drove a truck on a weekly basis in over 2 years but I still do the CPC module every year, As a lad I know gets me to do the odd trip for him plus it keeps me current as after a while when you don't drive you get a bit rusty.
I recently sat through the 5th module before the deadline of 9th September, From what I've been told the RSA will post out the CPC card sometime around September.
At the moment the CPC is not been enforced by either the RSA or Gardai, But I would imagine they will later on in the year.

Naw its still free and they wont post out anything until you contact them.

I got told at the time but when I went on line to chase it up two of my modules were not updated because they were done in the same 12 month period . So I needed to wait a while before I could apply.
Its been so long now that I have forgotten what site and what to do

Any driver who holds a driver digital card and who renews it online will automatically have the CPC card sent out to them, That is according to the RSA.
