So this morning at 5:30 I was woken up by a very load Jet, I'm living in the midlands and whilst a fair few planes fly overhead all the time they are at cruising altitude and you can hardly hear them. Anyone else hear this or am I losing it?

the odd morning they come in low over laois from the us around 5.30, probably what you heard as i heard it this morning also. Coupled with you probably having the window wide open these days was enough to wake you :)

Chicago flight got rwy 10 this morn.....landed at 05:15. Montreal flight next. Cant see them waking you up unless your out in the back garden camping under the stars!

Tracks all southerly last night so the kingdom of laois would have been on the flight path for risap re 10

Did you leave your landing light on?

Maybe a military plane so, as for the landing light been left on no and that wouldn't make a difference in mid summer as its bright at 5:30

Woke me as well but I would expect it where I am.

Did you leave your windows open ? Light winds would make it sound louder.

Could be worse. You could live beside Croke Park. Imagine living with concerts.

Edit: sorry, I thought I was in after hours for a moment. Came back to delete it but someome quoted my post already.

Imagine buying a house there and then complaining about it.

Like the people who give out about the noise of the cars at mondello park. Why build next door to a bloody racetrack then!!!!!
