What odds are Sligo for this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,004 ✭✭✭micks_address

    Guys,

Just wondering can you buy tickets at the match or do you have to buy in advance?

I know there are a couple of games on but only interested in the sligo cork game and adult tickets are 20 euro a head (tickets.ie) which is a bit saucy...

    Cheers,
    Mick

Think a lot of the reports of Corks demise are greatly exaggerated. Expect them to win myself. Although would be great for Sligo to get a QF.

Hard to know where Cork are at.
They have had no real form this season, their league ended in a hammering, they struggled at home v Tipp and we all know what happened v Kerry.

I doubt they will have their dual players, and if they have I don’t know what worth they will be, so they will be weakened even further.

It could be an upset but then again Sligo are not great either.

I’d go with a narrow uninspiring win for Cork.

    Cork 20 to 1 on. Sligo 9 to 1.

Martin Carney said there was a rumour David Kelly was injured, it would be harder to see Sligo pull off a shock if he's not playing.

I think cork will win this easy enough,I seen them against the jacks in the league in Crocker and if they play anyhtning like they did in the first halve again the sligos will be well beaten

And if Cork play like they did against Kerry, their most recent match, they'll be in serious trouble.

Hi folks don't have tickets for this but heading to tullamore later, should be possible to buy tickets at gate?

I actually hope Sligo beat Cork. Unless that happens nothing will change with Cork football it pains me to say.

Is this game on tv or rte player stream? Can't seem to find anything.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

Prematch interview with Donnacha O'Connor was a bit weird. Not much a player who isn't fit can really add before a game.

Sky lads trying hard to do some of the hype - the touchscreen stuff can be very good but I think they should go fullscreen immediately when they use it as opposed to having the two lads standing in front of it.

At least they are trying stuff as opposed to the half-arsed TV3 approach.

With 10 minutes to throw in looks to be a fairly small crowd from what shots I saw of the stadium.

    Sky Sports exclusively.

    Is Daniel Goulding injured?

Thought he was Cork's best player against Kerry.

    Nope dropped.

Very harsh. Hurley was useless in that game.

    Cuthbert seems clueless.

    Come on Sligo!

You wouldn't think a quarter final place is up for grabs with such a poor turn up in the stands.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

Cork playing with the wind - looks like a bit of a breeze there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

2 horror efforts from Sligo so far - you can understand why Sligo have struggled to get goals - seem to have very little composure in the attacking third of the field.

I'd take number 12 off for Sligo straight away. He's been very poor so far.

Based on what I've seen so far Cork will win this by as much as they want to.

    Sligo are so poor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

    Sligo looking seriously limited.

Only a matter of how much Cork win by

next game should be a closer affair.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

Ah jeez - awful miss from that free - need those to be going over to have any chance to keep things respectable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,821 ✭✭✭Always_Running

It's easy to see why Sligo finished mid table in div 3 this spring and only struggled past limerick,Wicklow in the last two games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 995 ✭✭✭Hammar

There was always going to be a bit of a blowback after Cork's last performance.
Sligo are playing well within themselves though,Adrian Marren is a very talented footballer, who shouldn't be missing frees like that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,286 ✭✭✭seligehgit

    Really poor game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

Sligo have gotten a reasonable decent amount of ball but when they get in the final third they have been utterly shocking.

Midfield has been about 50/50 I'd say which will be a worry for Cork

Game going pretty much as expected. Sligo half forward line are atrocious.

Cork not getting much from this ref.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,286 ✭✭✭seligehgit

Awful wide by David Kelly, can't afford misses like that.

This a decent advert for football to our British viewers.

I'd have said the ref has gotten a couple of things wrong for both sides, but that it's pretty much balanced out.

Mayo won't exactly be quaking in their boots watching this.

Have to agree with you there. Seems to be quick to award Sligo frees

Actually given the way their forwards have been going this evening, you'd say its hard to imagine how Sligo won 1 game let alone 2.

Serious car-crash stuff from the Sligo in terms of attacking. Some truely awful stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,386 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

Shocking match from two pretty poor teams.

Kerrigan doing well for Cork, Sligo need to be tighter on him.

Brian Hurley being played way too far away from Goal for Cork.

Sligo can't get key forwards on the ball and build up play is too slow.

Pat Hughes doing fairly well for Sligo but given 2 bad passes at key stages.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 918 ✭✭✭RoscommonTom

I knew it would be easy for cork, the sligos arent near that standard's

Yes this Sligo performance tonight is probably the worst I have seen from any side this year and I have seen some woeful displays.

Ha - nothing on earth has that power.

From a Cork point of view, ok thery're winning handily but I can't help but wonder what sort of score the Dubs would rack up against this Sligo performance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,686 ✭✭✭eigrod

Senan Connell going a bit over the top in his praise for some of Cork's play there. Probably trying to build them up for a big fall if they play Dublin later :D

Yeah - they've been ok but Sligo have been so poor it's untrue.

You get the feeling that even if Cork had 10 players sent off, Sligo would struggle to score enough to win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

ha - bit of a charity free from the ref there.

Standard GAA reffing procedure - if one side is getting beaten out the gate, make sure to give them a few handy frees to take the bare look off the scoreline.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

How easy was that for Kerrigan - simply waltzed away from his marker there and acres of space to tap over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

    Anyone marking O'neill there anyone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

    The fightback is on

    Goal for SLigo :):):)

    Because we are absolutely brutal.

At least more fight shown from Sligo now but Cork have been woeful in this half.
