    Hi All

Myself and my partner have been together for 6 years and we have an 18 month old baby.

My partner can get very depressed at times, she now refuses to take any more anti depressants.

I come home from work every day in a good mood and within minutes i myself become depressed, as from her point of view everything is ****ed.. the smallest thing sets her off.

We are both 28 and have are intimate maybe once every 2 - 3 months

She stays at home as she does not want to work and i have only recently convinced her to clean the house and make a dinner.. but just 2 months later thats all slipping away again, i often return from work to find the house a mess and she is asleep upstairs.

I have had enough... but here's the catch.. shes Russian, i know if we split up she will move to Russia with the baby. I wouldnt force her to stay here as she has no friends or family here and nobody to support her depression.

Am i forced to live a miserable life?... if i cant see my child i will be just as miserable as i am now.

Has anybody experienced this? please contact me .. thank you

No real advice and medical advice can't be given but has she spoken to her GP.
Has she said why she won't take her meds? Would talking to someone about how she feels help, other than you?
Did this start after the baby was born?
You don't say if she has friends locally and gets out of the house with the baby.
My wife is eastern European and found local parent groups a godsend and gave her a network of friends she never had.
Our eldest is in montessori and again, meeting parents at the gate has given her another opening

She refused to take her meds because she said the were not working for her. i convinced her to speak with the doc about this and he advised she go off the meds.

The depression started before the baby, been there most of her life but i was not aware untill a few years into the relationship as she kept it hidden.. she has a couple of friends around but does not make an effort to get out of the house,

i also convinced here to talk to someone after about a year of asking her.. she went once and refused to go again.... i dont know what to do from here.

last week i brought home some courses for her to look at but 2 days later i found the print outs in the bin!
