Headlights are fogging because it's very hard to put the cover back on after replacing bulbs, and very easy to put on incorrectly. Water gets in, and well you know the rest. I had it on both headlights. You need to take them out and drill a hole at either end at the lowest point. This will be on the clear part. Be VERY careful with the drill. You only want to barely go through so you dont damage the reflector. A one-eighth drill bit or smaller will do. Dry it out with a hair dryer, put the covers on properly and it's done.

With the noise from the front, see if the shield behind the disc is touching the disc. Other than that I wouldn't know without looking.

    thanks for info
funny thing that back cover was not on properly and i spent day with hair dryer heating all lamps, rear right was worst any way got it dry and car went to cork and following morning was as bad,so took off cover off headlight and rear lamps to dry , got rear lamps done and wife took car to town for shopping cover off headlight and she decided to chance going into nct centre , same fellow said it was fine so passed. haven't put cover on headlight since and still clear but i suppose when rain comes so will condensation. drilled out one rear light, water in it again, had no time to bake it yet.taking off headlight is ***, that plastic clip under lamp inside bumper i cant wriggle free, is there some trick without breaking it . 3 bolts on top 1 holding bumper, 1 holding bumper inside arch-cover am i missing some bolt

This video show what to do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udlc2lNUTJA
However what it doesn't show is theres a metal tab underneath the headlight that both headlight and bumper sits into. You might have to jimmy it open with a flat screwdriver.

At 0.56 - 0.58 at the top left of the screen you will see a tab on the bumper that sits into a metal tab under the headlight. The light also sits into the metal tab. I had trouble on one side taking the light out, and it was that that was catching. I opened it out with a flat screwdriver, and bent it back afterwards. When you see it, you will know what I mean. You would have to get down on your knees to see it properly.

im thinking of trading 08 avensis dsl and my wife is against buying anything other than toyota,
im consdering buying Corrolla dsl now, toyota seem to be replacing engines of at least modifying ones burning oil or so im told
we looked at 11 and 12 avensis dsl . however we were since told by a local mechanic that a few of them owned by careful owners locally have had handbrake replaced at cost of €1100 plus. all were out of warranty .but well minded as they say around here.main dealer assured me its only those who've attempted handbrake turns give any bother but....id like to know if anyone has experience of same
i like Nissan Quaskai but in-laws clutch gave trouble at 2 years, also like Citreon C3 it seems to have good back support. window winders in Octavia and similar in passat which i dont like anyway.Ford Galaxy seem to suffer similar winder problems as vw
