Super Stroke Fatso putter grip

For some backstory, my putitng has deteriorated drastically this year, to the point where I'm leaving quality rounds on the course due to missing so many what I'd consider "makeable" putts.

I'm not really having any rounds where I feel confident with the putter and feel like I can attack putts. I'm starting to push and pull a lot of my putts and ntoice I'm struggling on straight putts.

I've moved to address this with some quick drills and a change to my setup, but something I was looking into was these "Super Stroke" putter grips.

I'm not one for fads, but I'm noticing more and more "chunky" putter grips out on the course, and starting to see them on the putters of guys I consider REALLY good putters. So there must be something to this right?

I've been looking at the super stroke fatso, wondering if there are guys here with experience using it and how you find it?

I tend to putt with my shoulders, and hinge my wrists like some, so figured this type of grip might actually be a massive help.

I think if you're prone to using your wrists alot then these are a good idea.
I've got a 3.0 on and haven't noticed any major difference tbh so far.
Maybe slightly more confident on the greens but perhaps it's the placebo effect.

I found the fatso to be enormous, could barely get my hands ( I wear an L sized glove in Footjoy for reference ) around it and I just couldn't feel the weight of the putter head through it. I ended up with the Mid slim 2.0 and that was perfect for me, I since changed putters though just due to the wear on the face of that putter but considering putting the 2.0 on my new putter too since I just had an awful day on the greens yesterday.

I'd recommend finding someone who has one and feeling it in your hands on an actual putter because they are considerably bigger when on the putter than just holding the grip in the shop. I'm also not a fan of them on blade style putters, if you have a blade putter I'd go with the 2.0 at the most or the ultra slim 1.0, the 3.0 and fatso are better suited to mallet style putters as they have heavier heads but maybe others have found them good on blade style putters it's just personal preference.

I use a 3.0 on a blade and it's been great for my putting. Took a while to get used to the distance control, but within a couple of weeks it was fine.

OP, definitely try one. But don't expect it to instantly transform your putting. I would give it 4 weeks or so before deciding if it's for you or not. You should notice an improvement from 8 feet and in almost immediately though.

Prior to switching, I had a Fatso (agree with golfnut77, too big) on a spare putter. Used to practice with it and then use regular size grip on my main putter. Found that even just practicing with the Fatso (obese-o) helped quieten my wrists quite a bit.

Didn't really have an issue putting before I changed to fatter grip, was just looking for improvements anywhere. My stats this year have improved by just under 2 strokes a round, so it worked out well.

Is the midsize 2.0 larger then a run of the mill grip?

Scotty Cameron grips tend to be thin as it is, definitly looking into something ticker then the OEM grip.

Doc, Ping and Taylormade are putting them on some of their new putter. McGuirks(Swords) have a few new putters with them on so i reckon if you could try it in the store before you stick it on the putter you would be better.

Good idea. I saw them on a couple of Odyssies in McGuirks too

Excellent. I know my club pro had some on display, might ask him does he have any demo putters with them on, and give it a try on the putting green.

I've never been sold on the massive grips, but definitely feel like I need something bigger then the OEM scotty grip.

It's way too small for my hands.

Preferably want to make the purchase via the club using money in my account there also.So I tend to try avoid tyre kicking in the shops around Swords, considering I know a fair few of the staff in Halpenny and McGuirks also :D
