I have one in my tracker today

4.10 REDCAR -- GRAN CANARIA QUEEN

Highest ever Rating at 71 but I think she is in the form of her life and will go close to winning here today. 7/1 shot, so decent EW value.

Was at the Curragh this day last year and was tipped Beau Michael which won well at 10/1. Horse runs the very same race it won then today. Horse is rated 7lbs less than it was then, so you'd have to think the trainer fancies this. Current price has come in a bit from the 6/1 that was available yesterday to 11/2-5/1, but this is a max bet for me.

FWIW was told Ittirad was fancied in the 3.20 Newton Abbot, same race as Mick has a tip for Street Entertainer.
    Good luck if you play.

I think lady mega has an excellent chance of a nice weight in the 4.45 at the curragh

Suanna Belle another one for the tracker in the 2:45 there, should have won that race.

Geraghty should have been on a winner there at Tipp. Cruising into the straight in the lead only for the horse to drift dramatically wide.

Al Furat worth a euro e/w in the 3:40 at Redcar at 50/1. Has won at Redcar twice off higher marks. Hasn't shown a whole lot recently, but is way down in the ratings and has another 5lb of its back.

Disappointed with My Tatiana and was on her on her debut, but one too many lines fluffed at this stage. So unfortunate as it seems injury has taken a serious effect on a very promising prospect.

Lilly The Lioness 9-2 Should win this one easily
    Delay in off.

Too confident a ride on My Tatiana. Should have kept them in check more than he did.

The lady who won this race last year was Jessica Marcialis, a champion jockey. The best jockey this time was Alice Mills, who won the race. Put a memo in your 2015 calendar for this time next year to just ignore the horse and back the best jockey.

looked like Plan A was just getting a spin today, another to watch at Galway.

Where could one watch a replay of the first race in redcar?? And while i'm asking replays of meets that are on racing uk? They used to let me watch them but know it's a case of having to suscribe.

Anyone else surprised My Titania did not win today?

I was expecting her to dot up, thought Mc Donagh could have got after her earlier, reckon she is crying out for further.

Not sure about Redcar, but you can watch replays of the races from The Jockey Club racecourses on their website about 20 minutes after they've taken place.

It was possible to watch replays of RUK races on the Sportinglife website but they're only available to subscribers now.

    Jockey Club racecourses:

    Aintree
    Carlisle
    Cheltenham
    Epsom
    Exeter
    Haydock Park
    Huntingdon
    Kempton Park
    Market Rasen
    Newmarket July Course
    Newmarket Rowley Mile
    Nottingham
    Sandown Park
    Warwick
    Wincanton

Mares hurdle 2017:D. Took 3 furlongs to settle and stayed on well, up in trip and we might see the best of her imo.

Not really. Had very high hopes for her since last season. Thought she folded tamely at ascot so couldn't touch her today. I think I read somewhere that she was injured?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭Peintre Celebre

Was she not only beaten about two lengths at Ascot? The way some are talking here you'd swear she was on a salvage mission today. She's ran perfectly well since she came back. Probably not as good as a lot thought she could be but she should pick up another few races this year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭BumperD

The ascot result will confirm the distance if you look it up. It's the manner of her defeat at ascot that put me off her, for good. She has not progressed from the great promise she showed last season.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,173 ✭✭✭hucklebuck

I think it's too early to write her off, she probably needs at least 12f.

She picked up well enough but is one of those horse that takes a while for the penny to drop, surprised that penny hasn't dropped with Mc Donagh.

How is Mc Donagh doing this season? I was surprised to see he got the Aga Khan job and then the Oxx job, he looked promising but seems to have plateaued, or is that fair (I don't watch much flat racing)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 553 ✭✭✭Andalucia

we'll see a different filly once she steps up to middle distances

pity McDonagh doesn't get more rides, like him a lot as a jockey, Oxx stable isn't what it used to be, only left with the scraps the few smaller trainers have to offer after that

needs to re-invent himself to be in the reckoning for when the Ballydoyle job comes up
