Can anyone recommend a decent mains pressure mixer shower (exposed type)

The well known brands are so expensive (i.e. m & t)

Sorry, not sure if I follow you. .
    Am I to presume that (i.e. m & t) is a reference to Mira and Triton ?
Are you looking for an instant hot water mains fed electric shower?
Or a typical exposed mixer shower valve which takes its cold water from the main water supply and the hot water from a tank or though a gas (combi) boiler?

Triton t80z €190 in Woodies. Works at a lower pressure than the rest so best one to buy.
Remember mains fed electric showers are made for the UK market where they have better water pressure. Only about 5% of Irish homes have suitable water pressure for mains fed showers.

Yes Mira and Triton, scarily expensive..

Sorry I forgot that key piece of info, not an instant electric but an immersion fed mixer shower (pressurised from mains, no attic tank)

    Thanks !

Just stay away from anything too cheap or anything from B&Q.
You get what you pay for. Cheap B&Q shower, 12 months warranty & after that you can't get parts if shower fails.
Triton / mira shower, 2 years warranty & you will be able to get replacement parts for 10 /20 years.
Aqualisa shower, 5 years warranty & again spare parts for 10 / 20 years.

Stay away from the cheap stuff. It'll cost you more in the long run.

Triton do a nice rain head shower for around 265 in my local hardware which means they are probably cheaper in other hardwares! Not sure of the name but pretty much identical to the Thames model which used to get for 395

    Woodies has two Triton showers which appear good value;

    Triton Dove bar mixer €125

    Triton Dart concentric mixer €225

The dove looks like a great deal...
