I heard an East African guy on a radio panel thing once, cant' remember the context but the subject came up. His explanation was that he comes from a country with huge population density and large families and basically if you don't shout nobody listens to you. He said he tries to keep it down because he's aware that Irish people can find it quite aggressive and anti-social, but most of the time he doesn't even realise he's doing it.

Anyways, never mind that, what about Australians.

Anyone who's queued behind a Nigerian on a mobile will wonder why East Africans are getting all the attention here.

Germans and Africans hearing isn't as good or sharp as the rest of the worlds. This is because the people shout so it affects their hearing hence why they have to shout.

Really? I would have thought the stereotype was that the Yanks are loud and the Germans quietly giving out about it. But underhanded and wouldn't dare to confront. I think we can be loud in groups alright.
I know a few Italians and coincidently or not their men have quite a booming voice and you hear them all across the room and they think they're talking in a normal voice. I'm sure there are very quiet Italians too.

Irish - Why are Americans so loud?

Canadians - Why are the Irish so loud?

Germans - Why are the Australians so loud?

Spanish - Why are we so loud?

I'm wondering why everyone is so ****ing loud.

Life is beautiful and kind, so you should always tell people how beautiful life is and that all peoples should love each other.

However, life is also horrible and cruel. To illustrate this point, you should scream the above at them in German.

    East Africa isn't a country.
    Not yet.

    http://www.eac.int/
The East African Community (EAC) is the regional intergovernmental organisation of the Republics of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, the United Republic of Tanzania, and the Republic of Uganda, with its headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania.
    ...
The Vision of EAC is a prosperous, competitive, secure, stable and politically united East Africa; and the Mission is to widen and deepen Economic, Political, Social and Culture integration in order to improve the quality of life of the people of East Africa through increased competitiveness, value added production, trade and investments.

My supposition is that the Spanish or Italians have an outdoor plaza or beach culture where they're naturally not couped up and wander around flirting or bantering, even though they're loud I've generally sensed a playful non-threatening vibe from them.

Don't know about the Germans but there is a ''Billy Big Bollocks Macho Man'' kudos attached to having a loud voice in The Netherlands where it's generally obnoxious and gets on your nerves.

The English tend to shout too! Very able to project their voice! Then again I shout and I'm Irish! I can't talk at a normal volume, don't even notice it until I'm told to lower my voice. But I do notice that some nationalities shout. Never noticed with Spanish though!

Some Italians scream at each ither and theyre just having a normal conversation.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
