hi everyone, I am just wondering about an emergency medical card.
I applied lat month for a medical card and have not heard anything back I did ring and was given no information on when I will receive it. I just need to see a dentist as I have two quite large abscess's on my gum and they are really painful. I know compared to real medical problems that mine is way down on the list but its still painful. I am not looking for medical advice just advice on the medical card.
    Thank you.

Hi, did you ever have a medical card in the past?
Reapplying seems to be much quicker.
Could you ring them back on Monday, and find out how long it will be, twice they have given me the card number over the phone so I could give it to Dr or dentists receptionist and was covered.
My son got his medical card recently, and it only took a couple of weeks.
If you have an abcess the dentist usually gives antibiotics and pain relief before actual removal.
If you get nowhere with the med card dept on Mon could you work out a payment plan with your local dentist until your card comes through? Even 50€ per month -it might be worth your while to get your abcess sorted.
    Good luck.

if you sent off the application form you should have got a txt a few days later ( mine said it would be processed in 30 days ) with a reference number

I had one when I was twelve, but my situation has changed in that I no longer live at home and I now have a child of my own. Either way I cannot remember my old card number. But thank you for taking time to reply.
