I have a fitbit flex and I really like it.

    Pros
The app is great, syncs easily with myfitness pal if you use that
Looks good, minimalist and sleek, don't mind wearing it daily
Great in terms of motivating you to up your 'informal exercise'. I walk 10000 steps a day now, generally more like 15-20000
    Water resistant

    Cons
Expensive - got mine for about 70 on amazon, in the shops for €100
No heart rate monitor - same calories burned whether you're trudging or running
Not great at measuring non-step based exercising e.g. swimming but you can log these within the app.
Display is very limited - only shows progress towards your goal in 1/5ths, not a big issue for me as I always have my phone with me anyway.

Overall I would recommend, its pricy for what it is but I do find its helped me get more active and I really like how it looks. If it was a choice between that and two months gym membership though I would go with the gym for sure.

    .

I was going with Flex, simple because I have everythign recorded from Zip in app and can continue, but based on the website this will do exact same at less than half the cost:

Gone a google and seen this, looks good and very cheap.....

The ibody I bought from what I can say does the same as Fitbit Flex and is a quarter of the cost

That looks like a very good price for what it's offering! I'd be interested to see your feedback once it arrives.

Ordered yesterday, went with the standard shipping so probably 20 days or so, will fire up some feedback once it arrives and after I use for a while, looks good from the internet....

Have you got the Ibody yet? Mine arrived yesterday but I´m having trouble working out how to download the data from it. I have an iphone 4s, a macbook and a netbook with windows 7 starter and I´m not sure if I can get it to work with any of these - no luck so far anyway!

I looked around a lot and the Up24 seemed to be the best of the bunch but typical restrictions apply (mainly GPS, heart rate).

So, the Moto360 in conjunction with a mobile phone looked awesome.
Then yesterday, they announce the LG R and Samsung Gear S. The latter appears to have everything (including using your watch to call someone without a phone).

The point is that things are changing so fast in this area that I think in 2 years, most of the current trackers will be somewhat irrelevant.

Next week, when Apple host their media event, there will almost definitely an iWatch announcement. Holding off, looking at the future and knowing how close it is may help make a decision.

The model I have doesn't connect directly to an iphone but I think it should work with an android. I have to connect it to a pc and upload the data that way. HTH

Can anyone recommend one that has GPS and a HR monitor built in also? Perhaps with app support? And is a bit hard wearing? I want to wear mine in training for a few days, including rugby training when doing non-contact stuff, to get an idea of what calories I'm really burning and what distance I'm covering.

I have a garmin forerunner. I used it mainly for running (when I used to run) and was always happy with it - they're pretty pricey though.

I went with the Sync Health Bracelet. Have it a few months now. It works grand. I do think it seems to add up my steps very quickly. Not sure I am actually doing that amount. Getting about 30% more steps with it compared to the Fitbit Zip. So not sure it is very accurate but then you get what you pay for,

What I don't like is you have to press a button at night to go to sleep mode and thne in morning to go out of sleep mode. I keep forgetting this. Not sure if other wrist bands are the same?

I ordered a Vidonn X5 Bluetooth 4.0 IP67 smart wristband off gearbest during the week but unsure of what quality is like. Only cost €27 and it also monitors your sleep. This one is compatible with both I phone and android hence why I purchased this rather than the miband Bluetooth fitness bracelet from Xiaomi as they are android only.

Anyone have any experience with these or purchased from gearbest.com. Prices are very good but unsure of quality of products?

Looking at the new Fitbit Charge HR or the Surge - not out yet but stats look impressive, albeit expensive, with GPS and call alerts on the Surge.
