    Hi,

Was wondering if my current employer cant block me attending an interview with another employer?

Do i have a right to take time off even at my own expense (loss of wages) for the time it takes me ebing away for the interview ?

    He can't.

No, you don't have any right to time off, paid or unpaid.

Why would they need to know? Take holidays and don't tell the what it's for.

    No of course they can't.

You are entitled to holidays. You can take a holiday day to attend an interview.

You can take a holiday at a mutually agreed time.

Your employer may decide not to agree to leave at times of year when he thinks you might be interviewing elsewhere.

But s/he cannot control what you do outside working hours: I've had before and/or after hours interviews, in cases where applicants can't get time off their current job.
