    Hi

I know someone looking for classic car insurance and it doesn't seem to be too easy a job as she doesn't have a 'normal' car. Does anyone know of any companies that can offer you insurance without the need for a primary car?

Plenty will offer you classic insurance without a daily driver, but you will pay regular premium rates. I got my main car and classic insured with First Ireland for around 450, but I originally had just the classic on the policy for the same price.

I've just my classic car insured with AXA, about 420 I think.
They provide a good service, breakdown, helpful on the phone etc.

Cheers all for the suggestions but First Ireland is a no go due to bad history on refunds, Carole Nash and AXA both require a primary car to insure the classic :-(

    Any others anyone knows about?

Well I think you're snookered, because unless there has been new products introduced, First Ireland was my only option at the time for a classic car policy as a main vehicle, with a 10k miles limit.

AXA may insure it, but not under a classic car policy. I had a (at the time) a 34 year-old car insured with them on a regular car policy. Only drawback with that is the lack of an agreed value.

I have a classic car with Carole Nash with no primary car but have a number of motorbikes with them which may fill that role...
