    Hello,

I got letters "inviting" me to apply for Tus & Gateway programmes. Lots of info in this thread but I'm curious about the schemes as someone on here said that they're very different. How? Is one better than the other? Do I have to apply for both or can I just choose one? Both 19.5 hrs so that's grand but I'd like to know more as both citizens advice and SW sites are quite generic . I'd like real info from people who've been there! I'd like to get back to work so this could be perfect for me and the gap on my cv.

    Thanks

Both are pretty much the same except Gateway is for 22 months while TUS is 12 months. Gateway is with the County Council. I would expect there to be a better variety of placements on TUS but as Gateway has only started it is hard to comment on it.

Can you clarify...did you get a letter inviting you to interview for Gateway and you have to answer yes or no or did you actually receive an interview letter from county/city council? If its the letter inviting you to interview then you can mark I DO NOT WISH and just give the explanation that your are self employed... I assume you have let your local sw office know that you have commenced self employment. If its the case that its an actual interview with the council then contact them and tell them you cannot attend as you are now self employed.
