Hi happen to have a rare free weekend that weekend and thinking of taking in this double header. Cant find anywhere online selling standalone tickets for this, just as a package with the Semi-finals which is no use to me. I assume they will release tickets closer to the date?
Also any idea what times the games will be on, Im assuming early match at 2P late at 4PM. have to catch train from connolly at 7

It's unlikely to be on in Dublin though. It has been in Thurles in recent years. It may not be there but I would be very surprised if it was in Croke Park.

You are correct that tickets would be on sale for this next week, once venue and teams are known.

Journalist buddy of mine, told me that the Dubs/Tipp game will be a stand alone fixture. It will not be a part of a doubleheader with the other game. Will be in Semple more than likely.

With Dublin, Limerick, Tipp, Waterford/Wexford you are probably looking at Portlaoise or Tullamore for the Quarter finals. With Dublin and Tipp involved it is most unlikely they will be held in Thurles or Croke Park. It all depends on the Waterford/Wexford game.....if Waterford win then they would have no issues playing Tipp in Thurles, Waterford fans love the trip to Tipp. If Wexford win, then they wouldnt be so keen and understandably so.

If mr brooks comes to play it won't be in croke park anyway

If Waterford win they'll be playing Limerick.

How will that work for people who have got the package that includes the quarters and semis?

"Includes both GAA Hurling Championship Quarter Finals (double header) + 2 GAA Hurling Championship Semi-Finals "

No idea. He covers GAA games, so I presumed he knew what he was talking about. Said that the size of the crowd that Dubs/Tipp would bring, would warrant it being a stand alone fixture. Perhaps they will honour the tickets already bought at the turnstiles?

I wouldn't think the crowd would be that big at all.

Also if I were Dublin I'd be pushing for this game to be somewhere other than Thurles. Dublin will find it tough enough without making it an away game to boot.

Awwww pity bout them. Do the dubs not like travelling beyond the M50? Try being a supporter from another county where you have to travel to almost all your counties games.

The quarter final should be at a neutral venue, silly that Tipp get home advantage for this, particularly when they would be favorites anyway.

It's not about the distance to travel more about the home advantage.

Dublin hurlers is a different issue to the footballers. I actually don't agree with their footballers getting so many games in Croke Park although to be fair Parnell Park is their home venue. In the same way Tipp shouldn't be getting home advantage in the hurling, their under 21s already do. Semple Stadium is their home venue.

Thurles will be more or less sold out.

Limk bring maybe 20,000+, Tipp, 15,000+, Waterford 8,000+ and dub 1,000-2000.
